Hi italoHow would exessive carp and algea affect shallow water largemouth fishing in the weeds? Any lure recomendations?Posted on July 14th, 2016
Hi Lukas, carp activity in shallow water can more largemouth out. Algae should not be an issue, if it’s on the surface it can produce cover by filtering out some of the light which can keep bass more active. I personally like fishing bass in the weeds when there is an algae bloom occurring.
I tend to use dark lures when I am fishing algae blooms; dark spinnerbait skirts, black Johnson Silver Minnows, black surface frogs, purple and black plastic worms and swim-baits.
