Hi Italo,During the spring I am thinking of fishing for pike in cooks bay on lake simcoe. Is this a good are for trophy Northern Pike? What is a good place for a boat rental? Where is a specific area on cooks bay that hold Pike? Thanks
Posted on April 7th, 2015Cook’s Bay can be good for spring pike, especially “twitching” a Rapala Husky Jerk #14 around the new-growth weedbeds. The average pike there is between 4-7 lb., and you do have the chance of catching a fish over 10 lb. The best early pattern is to target the weedbeds that are coming up in about 8-10′ of water. One of my favorite stretch to fish is about 200′ off the east-shore from the Craigmawr Beach Point going north to Orchard Beach Lakefront Bar & Grill.
