Hi Gary…Thanks for your question. The crappie fishing is done from shore since they will school-up in 1 1/2-3′ of water just out from the shoreline. Here are a few of the places I have fished for them; at the bridge on Colbeck Rd., just south of Lincoln St. (west-side of river), where a creek flows into the river under River Road, just south of Broadway (east-side of river and just south of Lincoln St. bridge), and lastly, fishing under and around the O’Reilly Bridge off River Road, across from the Welland Airport. The river is flooded now and very murky. The crappie fishing should be good as soon as the water drops and clears-up. The river is cold right now and the crappie won’t move onto the shorelines until the water temperature is 40-42F….God bless you, Italo
