Hi Italo with bass seaon opening this weekend. I was just wondering where are some good places to bass fish in the toronto area. Also what lure would be most effective. Thanks
Posted on June 20th, 2014Hi Ryan…If you want to stay in the GTA, all of the tributaries like the Don River, Humber Rivver, Credit river & Bronte Creek lower sections (north & south of the QEW), will have good smallmouth bass fishing opportunities. If you fish further up-stream, most deeper pools and runs will hold bass with few people fishing for them. Good lures to use are: Blue Fox Vibrax #1 & #2, the Jointed Rapala #5, the Rapala Husky Jerk #6 & #8, the Rapala Ultralight Crank, and 1/8 & 1/4 oz. jigheads rigged with 3-4″ plastic TriggerX grubs like the 3″ curley tail (especially in black), leech, 4″ tube, paddle-tail minnow and finesse minnow….God bless you, Italo
