Hi Italo.Which section of the Burnt River were you fishing? On the episode at Kinmount,Ontario. It was kayak for bass, walleye and musky in there I believe? It seemed to be downstream from Kinmount to the Three Brothers Falls? How wide and deep was the river there?Hard to navigate and current?Much there for large boat traffic and cottages? Thanks for your time and I enjoy the show.Regards,Gord MoorePosted on August 22nd, 2017
Hi Gord, we fish the section north of the Kinmount, ON dam up to the Three Brothers Falls. The river is narrow there with many deep spots up to 20+’. Very few homes/cottages on that stretch. Depending on water levels, the flow can be pretty strong to navigate against the current. We were targeting musky using large, live baitfish, but ended up catching walleye (which was OK). Both that upper section and the lower section (below the dam), is excellent for both species. Many walleye and musky migrate up from Cameron Lake to feed in the river. The biggest challenge is timing because fish move up and down river systems. Summer is a reliable time to catch both, but as we get into the fall, both species either drop back to the deeper pools (above the dam), or drop back down to Cameron Lake (below the dam).
