HI Italo, when you fish for walleyes in smaller rivers do you use the “shallow shad rap” or the regular “shad rap” that dives deep?

Hi Angler, depends. If my sonar shows the Walleye are on the bottom, then I use a deeper-diving one. If I see marks suspended, I use the shallower-running one. Also if I don’t mark Walleye but I mark baitfish schools, I run the right diving crankbait to go to the depth I see the baifish.  Normally in rivers less than 20′ depth I either use the either the #5 or #7 Shad Rap. I usually don’t fish the shallow Shad Rap unless I’m in water less than 7’…God bless you,
