Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Stephane…Sounds like you should be lookinig at a Deep-V, 17\’, wide aluminum boat that has a flat floor with pedastal seats. A 40 hp. 4-stroke outboard ( http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/products.php?model=2699&class=28&group=O|&LANG=en ), will power the boat fine. The most important fishing accessory is a 65-85 lb. thrust bow-mount trolling motor, followed by a sonar. I would encourage you to check out Yamaha outboards since the are the most common outboard I see world-wide. I have also used them for many years and they are extremely reliable. G3 makes affordable 17\’ fishing boats ( http://www.g3boats.com/AnglerVSeries/GuideV170T/ ), with the spec\’s that would be ideal for you and your family. Minn Kota ( http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/motors/detail.asp?pg=fbm_edge ), offers several bow-mount electric trolling motors that will also power the 17\’ boat efficiently. I would recommend that you get at least 70lb. of thrust, and lastly, the Humminbird 787c2i sonar ( http://store.humminbird.com/humminbird-products/sonar-gps-combos/700-series/787c2i-combo-nvb/prod406760-1V.html ),gives you the option of GPS/hydrographic chart interface with a high resolution sonar and many other features at a very reasonalbe price…God bless you, Italo
