Hi italo what size of rod would you recommend for channel cats 1020pounds and do you know any good spots at dunville for cats
Posted on April 18th, 2014Hi Austin…I prefer to use a longer, stiffer 8-9′ Rapala North Coast steelhead spinning rod rated for line weight from 12-17lb. test, and loaded with Sufix 832, 20 lb. test braid & Sufix 20 lb test Fluorocarbon leader with a #2-1/0 Circle hook. My favourite spots to fish for channel catfish below the Dunneville, ON Dam is either in front of Fishmasters Marina, or from Grand Island on the west side near the Hwy.3 bridge (there is a hole there where the water drops down to 7′ and the catfish like to hold there)……God bless you, Italo
