Hi Italo, what are some of your favourite lures for late fall walleyes in rivers?
Posted on November 1st, 2021If I’m fishing shallower rivers less than 15′ in depth I live to cast and troll small crankbaits along the 8-12′ breaks like the Rapala Shad Rap, or jig a 1/8 oz jig and 3″ plastic twister tail along the bottom.

If I’m fishing deeper rivers up to 30′ in depth like the Niagara or Detroit Rivers I will jig on bottom using up to a 5/8 oz. jighead rigged with a Fishing Compete Italo’s Minnow , or jig a vertical jigging spool like a Mr. Champ, Hopkins Spoon or a Blade Bait.
Make sure to check the fishing videos on our Italo Labignan YouTube channel and if you have any questions just email them to me at Ask Italo throughout our www.canadian-sportfishing.com website.
