Hi Italo, what are some of your favourite lures for late fall walleyes in rivers?

Posted on November 1st, 2021

If I’m fishing shallower rivers less than 15′ in depth I live to cast and troll small crankbaits along the 8-12′ breaks like the Rapala Shad Rap, or jig a 1/8 oz jig and 3″ plastic twister tail along the bottom.

Walleye Rivers.
The Italo’s Minnow fished on a jighead is deadly on spring, summer and fall walleye in both lakes and rivers.

If I’m fishing deeper rivers up to 30′ in depth like the Niagara or Detroit Rivers I will jig on bottom using up to a 5/8 oz. jighead rigged with a Fishing Compete Italo’s Minnow , or jig a vertical jigging spool like a Mr. Champ, Hopkins Spoon or a Blade Bait.
