Hi Italo, We just have a quick comment on how much we truly enjoy your show! You, are a refreshing change from many other fishing show hosts. I hope your sponsors have an appreciation of your appeal to many of us! We especially enjoy the shows where Barb accompanies you. I do have one question for you, regarding boats and motors. Keeping in mind affordability,(new or used) what would you recommend in a four stroke outboard and a 12\’ to 18\’ aluminum boat? I realize this is a very open ended question so even your general opinion would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Herb…Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, I receive them! That boat length can really make a difference in the proper outboard each boat may require. For a 12\’ boat you are probably fine with a 9.9 or 15 hp 4-stroke. For a 16\’ boat, a 40 hp. is probably fine. Once you get up in the 18\’ range, it really depends on the type of boat you get. For example, this season I am using a 185F G3 which is designed to be powered by a 200 hp. outboard, so it really depends on the type of rig you have, it\’s weight and performance needs. For a standard 18\’ boat (bench seats, or just bench-seats, flat floor with one or two pedestal seat mounts and side console, you could probably run it efficiently with a 115 hp. outboard…God bless you, Italo
