Hi Italo, we are fishing Lake Baptiste near Bancroft May 28 and are new to the area. Targeting mainly walleye but would take a break to hunt for pike too. I've heard lakers may be there too, not sure. Any tips do you have for this lake would be appreciated - location, bait, presentation. Thank you.

Hi Steve, Baptiste is an excellent fishing lake. I suggest you “twitch” the Rapala #14 Husky Jerk in silver or gold, or cast a 3/8 oz.white or yellow spinnerbait in bays and along rocky shoreline for pike.

For the walleye you can try casting the Rapala Dives To 7 Flat crankbait in the same areas and also off the flooded timber. You can also jig a 1/4 oz. jig/Lunker City 3″ Shaker along the bottom in the same area.
