Hi Italo, the family and myself are going to spend a week at a cottage on Farlain lake in Midland, have you ever fished there or know someone that has? any info would be greatly appreciated, as I have never been there and have no clue about this lake, again any help would be great, thank you and God Bless.
Posted on June 22nd, 2015I have not fished Farlain Lake, ON, but I know it has smallmouth bass, walleye, rock bass and crappie. I hear the lake gets a lot of boat traffic from the people living around the lake so I would suggest you try and do most of your fishing during the week when there may be less traffic. The lake does not have much structure so I suggest you try fishing shallow off the shorelines for bass, crappie and rock bass and a little deeper for the walleye. Fishing 1/4 oz. jigs with 3″ plastic grubs, casting small crankbaits like the Rapala Dives To Thug, and also fishing topwater lures like the Rapala Skitter Pop should work. Trolling might be a good choice for the walleye using a worm-harness, Vibrax #3 spinner/worm, and a Jointed #11 Rapala.
