I have not fished Farlain Lake, ON, but I know it has smallmouth bass, walleye, rock bass and crappie. I hear the lake gets a lot of boat traffic from the people living around the lake so I would suggest you try and do most of your fishing during the week when there may be less traffic.  The lake does not have much structure so I suggest you try fishing shallow off the shorelines for bass, crappie and rock bass and a little deeper for the walleye.  Fishing 1/4 oz. jigs with 3″ plastic grubs, casting small crankbaits like the Rapala Dives To Thug, and also fishing topwater lures like the Rapala Skitter Pop should work. Trolling might be a good choice for the walleye using a worm-harness, Vibrax #3 spinner/worm, and a Jointed #11 Rapala.
