Hi Italo, I’ve recently been fishing lake simcoe around the innisfil area and had little to none luck in catching smallies. Last summer we were catching a lot in this area. Do you have any suggestions on what I could do to entice the fish or other locations they may be? I enjoy using crankbaits and jerkbaits. Do you think they’ve move to deeper waters?Thank you! Adam
Posted on August 6th, 2015Right now smallmouth in all southern Ontario lakes can be caught shallow & deep. If you have not had luck catching them where you fished last year, you should really look for other areas that do have feeding bass. If you don’t mind travelling by boat, or trailering your boat to Barrie, ON. There is a very good weedline on the north shore, east of Heritage Park. That whole shoreline can be very productive and it’s usually protected from north-westerly winds.
