Hi Italo Ive been fishing for a while but just recently took greater interest towards it and am looking to the spring and summer fishing in southern Ontario. I have a bait casting real with braided line and a 6 inch metal leader attached. Will the metal leader frighten fish such as bass Should I be using a different type of leader thanks!! Scott

Hi Scott….The wire leader should be fine if you are fishing larger lures for warm water fish in water that is not really clear. If you fish clear water for warm water fish (bass, walleye, pike, etc.), and for trout, you are much better off using a fluorocarbon leader, or a black wire leader (not as visible as a silver leader). You only need to use a wire leader if you are targeting toothy fish like pike & musky.
