Hi Italo. Its been at least 15 years since I last spring fished Lake Manitou on Manitoulin Island. Since I was last there, there has been a fairly successful Walleye stocking program in place. Any tips to help our catch of not only Lake Trout, but now the Walleye in May.Thanks
Posted on April 23rd, 2015Lake Manitou is clear and cold. Best walleye fishing will be early and late in the day around structure areas between 12-25′ deep. Best way to locate the walleye will either be trolling hardbaits like the Rapala Scatter Minnow, Rapala Tail Dancer #9, or with a bottom-walking sinker/worm harness. If you do locate a concentration of walleye you can anchor or drift-fish over the area and fish with jigs/live bait combinations close to the bottom.
