Hi Justin, I have fished and done TV shows in Algonquin Park years ago but I have not fished the Amable du Fond River area. No knowing when you are heading up I can just give you some reliable tips for you to catch Brook Trout. Try casting or trolling lures by “flat-limning” up to 100′ leads and using small 1/4 oz. casting spoons like the Lil’Cleo, the Rapala sereis of Ultralight Crankbaits, the Rapala Coundown in size CD3 and also the Vibrax #2 spinner. You can also troll with a spoon/worm rig where you take a 3-4″ spoon, remove the treble hook and add a swivel at both ends. Tie the spoon on your line and than add a 14-20″ fluorocarbon leader and at the end use a #6 Baitholder hook. Use a dew worm in the hook. The spoon with act as a “flasher” attracting trout to it and when they come close they will hit the worm. Hope you have a great trip….God bless you.
