Hi Italo….I was wondering if Mitchell Lake was any good at this time of the year for catching pike. I heard there were lots in there. Do pike slow down at this time of the year like bass or are they just starting to get their feedbag on with the colder temps?Posted on November 8th, 2015
Pike are normally still very active in the fall and right through the ice-fishing season. Mitchell Lake should be an easy fish since it has a vast shallow-water area and limited deeper water.
I have never targeted pike there, but I am sure they would be in the slightly deeper water off the weed-edges. Best presentation will be either twitching a Rapala Huksy Jerk, or fishing soft-plastic minnow baits with or without a weighed hook. Slow presentation is good at this time of the year.
