Hi Italo I was thinking of targeting pike and bass this weekend. Are there any places you would reccomend fishing from shore in the Lake Simcoe or kawartha lakes regions. Thanks

Hi Ryan…Pike and bass fishing spots are tough to find from shore on Lake Simcoe or any of the Kawartha Lakes because most of the shore-access is private. I would encourage you to consider going to Orillia, ON and checking out the Lake Couchiching shoreline right in Orillia at their waterfront park and also in the park just west of Atherly narrows on Hwy.#12. For pike at both locations it would be critical to be there at day break and casting a Vibrax #3 from shore around the weeds will probably give you the best chance at catching pike. Large and smallmouth bass will probably continue to cruise the shoreline even later in the day and casting a 3/8 oz. spinnerbait and a 6-7″ Teexas-rigged purple plastic worm, weedless rigged swim bait like the TriggerX Slop Hopper in the 3 1/2 or 4 1/2″ size will probably work well….God bless you, Italo
