Hi Italo I wanted to go to Frenchhmans bay tonight. What can i catch in there this time of year and what should i be using in terms of lures and baits.
Posted on July 9th, 2013Hi Ryan…You can catch any fish that lives in Lake Ontario in Frenchman’s Bay. If you fish the west-side (where the deeper water is), you can cast a Vibrax #3 and catch pike and bass. If you fish the shallower areas you will catch a variety of panfish and coarse fish that include; rock bass, sunfish, perch the odd crappie, sheepshead, carp and suckers. Best bait for the panfish/coarse fish is worms under a float, or on a sliding-sinker rig fished on the bottom. If you fish the outlet, you can catch some really nice smallmouth bass on jigs/plastic grubs like tubes & twister-tail grubs, or you can cast the Vibrax #3 spinner and Rapala crankbaits…..God bless you, Italo
