Hi Italo I want to take your advice and fish the saugreen river sauble beach area for sm bass in the upper stretches of the river. I have been looking online but cant seem to find any info on the Upper Stretches. Can you please help me out and advise where I can access the river to fist the upper stretches park my car etc. Please help. God Bless!!
Posted on August 7th, 2013Hi Danny…We just finished doing a 8km drift starting at Walkerton, ON and heading down-stream for 8km catching smallmouth bass and pike. I do not have exact locations for you but I do know that there is excellent fishing inbetween any of the dams and also in the lower stretches of the rivers where they enter Lake Huron. Best to call a local tackle shop and ask them for their input. Best lures to use are; Vibrax #3 spinner, Rapala Dives To Thug crankbait, 4″ plastic tube (goby color)/1/8 oz. tube jighead, all fished close to the bottom. I would suggest you start fishing below Sauble falls & below Denny’s Dam on the Saugeen River. You can check Google Maps Earth and see where the parking lots are and access points….God bless you, Italo
