hi italo i plan to go for channel catfish fishing in dunnville. can you tell when is the best time to go there and when what hook size and brand i have a boat so i need a launch too. thanks
Posted on March 19th, 2012Hi John…You can launch your boat at the public boat launch right in Dunneville, ON two driveways south from the dam/bridge, behind the arena. Best hooks to use are #4 or #2 Cirle hooks. When you do get a channel catfish picking up your bait and taking off with it, don’t set the hook with a fast rod-snap. Because of the circle hook, all you have to do is keep reeling and lift your rod at the same time. That way the hook will set-up nicely just i the jaw of the catfish. March & April are the best months to fish there. Daytime is ok, but catfish are most active at night…God less you, Italo
