Hi Italo. I often see small baitfish jumping or flipping on the surface of the water. I have seen many types of fish in many vastly different bodies of water over many different depths and structure exhibit this behaviour. Why are they doing this Is this situation an opportunity for the angler Thanks for sharing your experience over the years. Im your biggest fan. Ryan.
Posted on August 10th, 2010Hi Ryan…Thank you for your kind words. Baitfish that are jumping out of the water or on the surface are either feeding on small aquatic organisms, or they are trying to get away from larger predator fish that are feeding on them. In either case the area should be checked-out since there could be larger predatory fish around or underneath them….God bless you, Italo
