Hi Italo. I just bought a kayak and am looking to do some fishing in some lakes within a 2 hour drive of Burlington. Many boat launches and parks are closed due to covid-19. Im looking for somewhere I can easily launch and do some fishing. Thank you!Posted on April 20th, 2020
Hi Michael, the Welland River, Welland, ON is good for pike, bass, & walleye and the Welland Recreational canal (about 11km long 400yds wide, 30’ depth in the middle with weedlines in both sides is also good for bass, pike and panfish. They are both ideal for kayaking and have easy access. For the Welland Recreational canal, you can drag the kayak over grass and launch at the end Thorold Rd. For launching in the Welland River there is a launch off River Road near Almond St.
