Hi Italo, I enjoy alot of lake ontario trib fly fishing for trout. Living in niagara that always means a long drive. Where would you recommend to do some fly fishing in niagara? Species doesnt matter, just love the fly rod!Posted on July 3rd, 2016
Hi Tom, when the salmon/trout are running, I usually head to Upper NY Lake Ontario tribs as early as Oct.
In Niagara region you can fly fish the Niagara at the Whirlpool, but it can be tough. Right now, best to fish some of the old Welland Canal’s that are in and around St. Catharines/Thorold for mixed warm-water fish; smallies, pike, panifish, sheepshead and carp. All are fun on a fly rod. If you download our UFindFish app., I have marked lot’s of shorefishing locations on those canals….God bless you.
