Hi Italo I am going brook trout fishing this sunday and would really apreciate it if you could give me some tips on what to use it has been hot so I am assuming the trout will be deep but I am not sure. The lake is small and at the deepest part is 30 feet deep the trout average about a pound. Thank you and god bless you.
Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Joshua….You may want to try locating them by trolling with a small spoon, small spinner, small Countdown #3 or #4 Rapala, or a spoon/hook-worm combination (take a 3-4″ spoon, remove the hook and add a second swivel, tie one end to your line and than tie a 12-15″ leader with a hook on it to the other end). Once you catch some trolling, you may want to drift and try casting lures in the area. Brook trout can swim around in schools, so if you locate one, there will probably be more there. You will probably need to try trolling at different depths. If there are springs in the lake, definitely troll around the colder water….God bless you, Italo
