I had a great summer!! With the nice weather we are having you should have excellent walleye fishing on Rice Lake. Because the water temperatures are still warm, the walleye will still be in their “summer” pattern.
You should be able to find them off weedlines and weedbeds in 7-12′ of water and you can use the same techniques that have worked all summer long; jigging, drifting with a Vibrax spinner/worm or worm-harness, casting crankbaits like the Rapala Thug, or trolling of the weeds. If you don’t mind fishing at dusk from shore or anchored from a boat just after dark, you may want to try casting a Husky Jerk where there is some moving water, like in the Otonabee River.
