Hi italo hope you are doing well. I am planning a camping trip for the summer and looking for a park with good largemouth bass fishing. Which parks within 2 hours of Newcastle have the best largemouth fishing. I appreciate you taking the time to write back.

Hi Ethan, there are many parks that have excellent fishing for largemouth bass within 2 hrs of Newcastle, ON.  If you are looking for a wilderness experience I would suggest Bon Echo Provincial Park, or staying at and fishing the smaller lake just south of it, Loon’s Call Campground on Marble Lake. If you have a boat, kayak or canoe, the best fishing is in Little Marble and Marble Lake for largemouth bass. The lakes have lot’s of lilly pads and stumps, ideal for all kind of bass lure presentations. I fished there years ago and the bass fishing was excellent.

If you are looking for a location that is closer and bigger waters the Bay of Quinte is a good choice either staying at County Shores , or on the south-end of Prince Edward county at Outlet Beach Provincial Park (East Lake has good largemouth bass fishing, lot’s of reeds, undercut cattail banks and weeds, or Sandbanks Provincial Park (the north end of West Lake again has lots of reeds, undercut cattail banks and weeds)….God bless you.
