Hi Italo hope all is well with you and your family. A while ago I wrote you and asked about fishing for smallmouth near Buffalo N.Y. You told me early spring was the best time to catch the largest fish. With the early warm weather have I missed that window Do you know how the fishing is there right now I want to go in the next couple weeks can you give me any advice for success when I go Thanks as always again!

Hi Greg…I am sure that the smallmouth bass are just moving into the Buffalo, NY harbor and one of the best ways to cactch them this early is to “twitch” either a Rapala Husky Jerk #12 or a Rapala X-Rap #10 along the rock breakwalls & ove the first weed-growth. The frist fish to move shallow will be smaller smallmouth bass under 4 lb. the larger females will probably arrive in the next couple of weeks. I have a feeling the larger fish are still on the reefs in 20-40′ of water….God bless you, Italo
