Hi Italo hope all is well. Myself and two others are going up to Georgian bay for the long weekend specifically the Awenda provincial park. Were planning to rent a canoe. What should we be targeting and what lures and bait would you suggest. any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Posted on August 21st, 2014Hi Ryan…The Park is on the open Bay so you won’t have much protection from the elements. Hopefully you won’t have too strong of winds from the north. You should be able to find smallmouth bass along the shoreline in Methodist Bay. I would suggest you fish a 4″ tube/18 or 1/4 oz. tube jighead along the bottom in the first 100-200′ from shore and fish any rocky structure you can visually see in 5-15′ of water. You may also want to fish a drop-shot rig with a 3/8 oz. bell sinker on the bottom and either a TriggerX 4 1/2′ Minnow, TriggerX Probe Worm, or TriggerX 3: Leech on a VMC Spin Shot Drop Shot hook about 1′ above the sinker and fish the rig right on the bottom….God bless you, Italo
