Unfortunately there are few public access areas on Balsam Lake. You can fish the area where the canal meets Balsam Lake at both ends (south end at Hwy.#35/North-end where the Rosedale Canal starts and than goes to Mitchel Lake). You can fish from shore on the canal at both ends if you don’t mind walking on the rocks! The only other place is Balsam Lake Provincial Park. You can catch musky and bass right from it’s shoreline.
