Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Josh…You can hook into a trophy walleye at any time throughout the Bay of Quinte, but one of the most reliable areas to troll for them right after opening is the Lower Bay of Quinte (Hay Bay and southwards). I would encourage you to troll with the Rapala Tail Dancer #9 & #11 size in the chartreuse/black or brown back crankbait. The #9 dives down to about 12\’, whicle the #11 dives down to 30\’. For pike you are best off launching your boat at Wapus, ON (just south of Picton, ON), and fishing Smith\’s Bay with 3″ pearl/black back Mister Twister Sassy Shads or the Storm Swim Minnow & 10 lb. test line (with or without a wire leader). I don\’t know of any reliable pike spots in the Bay of Quinte this early in the year….God bless you, Italo
