Hey ItaloCan you recomend me a few spots on southern georgian bay where i can take my canoe out fishing and my wife and kids can swim/play on a sandy beach near by on the lake, maybe a spot with large mouth and a spot with smallmouth?, so we can make two trips. It has to be on georgian bay as thats where the wife wants to go. South on georgian bay is best as it is a closer drive from the gta where i live. I am having trouble choosing an area as i do not know what areas have fish. Thank you Italo, i apprecite your help. Enjoy the weekend.Posted on July 12th, 2019
HI Edward, tough to find sandy beached in southern Georgian Bay other then the Wasaga beach stretch. If you were to go a little west of Georgian Bay on the east shore of Lake Huron around the mouth of the Saugeen River or Sauble River your wife and kids could enjoy the beach and you could literally paddle up either rivers and catch smallmouth bass, possibly walleye, pike and some coarse fish like Freshwater Drum. The only places I would recommend on Georgian Bay itself-would require you dropping off your wife and kids at the beach around Wasaga, ON and then traveling a short distance and again fishing the lower sections of either the Beaver or Nottawasaga Rivers. Again it would be mixed fishing, but largemouth bass would be rare at all locations.
