I appreciate how you explain everything as you go this has been a big help for me. I live near Port Huron Michigan and this weekend I am invited to fish off the wall on St Clair river for walley What would you recommend for bait Would it differ from what you use on the boat any tips you can give me would be great. Thanks again for all the great videos and info. Jeff Pohlman

Hi Jeff…Glad you hear you are enjoying and learning from our TV shows. It can be tough to catch walleye from shore without loosing too many lures/rigs, but you can. I would recomment jigging with a 3/8 or 1/2 ” jig (depending on current speed and depth), rigged with a 4″ plastic grub (just like in the videos). The strategy is to fish current/structure breaks where walleye will hold or pass-through and to keep your jig near the bottom. Most walleye will strike when you jig hits the bottom, and you will have a walleye on as you go to jig-up. It will help for you to use a stiffer rod like a medium-heavy action spinning rod with tje reel loaded properly with Sufix 832, 20 lb. test braided line (6 lb. test monofilament line diameter). Good plastic grubs to use with your jigs are theTriggerX 13cm Minnow, 15cm Spade Tail Minnow, the 11cm Paddle Tail Minnow, and a 16cm” Nightcrawler (cut down to 4″)….God bless you, Italo
