Hey Italo, ive run into a dilema in my fishing. I fish lagemouth in a bay near the gta and this year the water level is lower than normal, the water near the south end of the bay is absolutly crystal clear and slightly stained to the north, both are which are much more clear than previous years, the weed growth is also much more and higher than previous years, some spots it is so thick to the surface with no canopy i doubt any fish could live. I can see bass every so often in the water and do get the odd blow up on a frog, so i know they are still there, but otherwise i am strugling to get any bites on my texas rigs and wacky rigs. The fishing is far worse than past years. I fish from my kayak. Do you have any advice as to what lures i should try or features i should look for to fish? Thanks for your help
Posted on August 14th, 2018If the water is unusually shallower then other years I would encourage you to fish deeper water. Try fishing the weeds that are growing just off bottom and also where those weeds end and meet open water. I have a feeling that if you use a “twitch-bait” like the Rapala Rip Stop in those areas you will not see fish, but get good hook-ups!
