Hey Italo, im looking for a spot i can fish for largemouth with primarily frogging and punching mats, these are my favourite techniques however most of the areas i bass fish only have submerged weeds that i use crankbaits etc far off the bank, as the weed mats are to shallow and dont have any fish holding. ,I have a pelican kayak and can cover alot of distance. Can you recommend a few areas and locations to put in where i will likely have success with frog fishing mats and that you know are holding fish. I think you suggested the scugog river by east cross creek in the past, is this my best bet or are there better locations you can think of?I live in toronto but will drive as far as necessary as i am really craving a good frog fishing trip!Thank you so much Italo!Posted on August 4th, 2019
Hi Alex, the other area I can suggest is the east-side of Scugog Island and fishing the north-side of Hwy.#7A. There is a vast area of lily pad beds that will take you ours to cover which is ideal for fishing artificial frogs (one of my favorite is the Lunker City Salad Spoon, and Johnson Silver minnows.
