Hey Italo, I\’m heading the bay of Qunte this weekend. I was hoping to catch some pike or walleye, do you think I should go to Point Anne? If so, what presentation should I use, and how deep should I fish, or is it still to early? Do you suggest a better location?
Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Michael….I think Point Anne will be OK, but I know that they have been catching a nicer mix-size of walleye further south around Hay Bay. I would encourage you to try cranking the weedlines with the Rapala Tail Dancer #9 in the “hot-chub” color. You should be able to catch nice eating-size walleye in the 2-3 lb. range and some smaller pike in the 4-8 lb. range. Some of the better pike fishing is in Lake Ontario either at Weller\’s Bay, Wests Lake, East Lake, Smith\’s Bay, or South Bay. All these are about :30min. from Belleville, ON….God bless you, Italo
