Hey Italo I love watching your shows on TV and these sport fishing tips and videos. I just bought a house in Deseronto ON right on the Bay of Quinte and wanted to know what is the best area to fish for the 2015 May opener for walleye. I am right by the Deseronto boat launch and wanted to know if I should head south to Shermans point or to Picton Bay or stay more north and fish by telegraph narrows area etc… Also what are some of your favorite lures to use and techniques for early season walleye Im just learning that area! Thanks and tight lines!

Hi Flavio…Thank you for your kind words. Glad you enjoy or TV shows and tips. I have a feeling the walleye fishing will be very good this spring since it should be a late spring which means walleye will still be close to their spawning areas. If that is the case, you will be able to catch limits of walleye right in Deseronto in the Napanee River, and in the Salmon River in Shannonville, ON casting a Rapala Husky Jerk #11 after dark just below the last fast water. For eating-size walleye one of the best places to fish is out just south of the submerged cable sign and channel marker that is south of Forester Island in Hayward Longreach (right across from the large red barn that is on the west side/on the hill). Best presentation there is to troll slowly along the bottom using a “bottom-walking-sinker” & a worm harness/worm. For trophy walleye your best bet is to troll at night with either a Rapala Husky Jerk #14, or a Jointed #11 Rapala in 10-20′ of water off of Sherman’s Point, Thompson’s Point & around the channel marker at the mouth of Hay Bay. Hope you have a great walleye season….God bless you, Italo
