HEY ITALO I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOU SINCE I WAS A WEE LAD SO I KNOW YOUR THE GUY TO TALK TO. 4 YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A PLACE NEAR BANCROFT ONTARIO , BETWEEN EELS AND PAUDASH LAKES . THERE ARE NUMEROUS SMALLER LAKES IN THE AREA AS WELL , AND ME AND DAD HAVE BEEN FISHING THEM ALL, BUT ALL WE SEEM TO BE ABLE TO CATCH ARE MOSTLY 1-2 LB. SMALLMOUTH BASS (WE DO GET THE ODD LARGE ONE 4 LBS. OR SO )BUT WHAT WE ARE AFTER ARE THE RAINBOWS , LAKERS , BROOKIES AND SPLAKES THAT THESE LAKES ARE ALL STOCKED WITH BUT WE ARE NOT HAVING ANY LUCK AND IT\’S NOT FROM LACK OF TRYING. I HAVE A BASIC 16 FT. ALUMINUM WITH 15 HP. NO ELECTRONICS ,STRICTLY OLD SCHOOL. ANY ADVISE YOU COULD GIVE ME WOULD BE WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD. AND EARN YOU HONORARY LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP TO THE TROUT POND I\’M CREATING LOL. THANKS IN ADVANCE P.A.

Hi Paul…Thank you for your kind words.  I am not familiar with the small lakes you are fishing so it\’s tough for me to give you specific advice.  I can tell you that rainbows, lakers, brookies and splake can be very difficult to catch during the summer months.  I suggest you try fishing these lakes once the ice-fishing season opens, and early in the spring when they should be cruising all along the shorelines and often feeding on emerging insects and baitfish that are just below the surface, that way they will be much easier to locate.  Casting small 1/4 oz. Lucky Strike spoons and small CD #3-#5 Rapalas, Shad Raps and #2 Vibrax spinners should also work well…God bless you, Italo
