Hello ItaloI was wondering when do you think the panfish bite will pick up in GTA pondslakes Also is there anything I can catch right now around the Western GTAMississaugaEtobicoke Would there be channel catfish in the lower parts of major Lake Ontario Tributaries and if so how could I target them
Posted on May 17th, 2014Hi Randy….The panfish will be more active as the water temperatures warm-up. For that to happen we need at least 1-week of consistent warm weather. When they do move in, you will be able to visually see them along the shorelines. Channel catfish do enter many of the Lake Ontario tributaries, especially in the harbor mouths. Best way to target them is fish a chunk of fresh white sucker fished on the bottom with a sliding sinker rig, at night. Hamilton Bay gets a good run of channel catfish this time of year…God bless you, Italo
