Hello Italo,I am from Pennsylvania and will be going to Lady Evelyn Lake June 24-July 2 and would like your opinion or thought on fly patterns for northern pike. I have already tied larger perch, Clouser minnows and red & white streamers, range of fly 3″-5″ in length. Any suggestions on other patterns and how to target pike on the fly would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Wayne F.Mechanicsburg, PA
Posted on May 22nd, 2016Hi Wayne, sounds like you have a good assortment of flies tied already, now all you have to do is locate some pike. Even though the main lake has a healthy pike population, there is limited weed-growth. One of the best areas to fish for them with a fly rod is at the mouth of the brook trout stream where there is lush vegetation and a large shallow-water flat.
The other thing I would suggest is for you to walk into the smaller lake that has lot’s of pike. If you talk to the lodge owners they can tell you about both locations. Hope you catch lot’s of pike….God bless you.
