Hello Italo We all are aware of invasive species being transported by boats waders. I was wondering what is your knowledge on invasive species espacially plants and algae being transported on rods reels lines lures and things of this nature. Thank youPosted on July 20th, 2015
I have not really thought about it. I know that water in the bilge of a boat, live-wells, and the lower unit of outboards can definitely be carriers that can transport traces of invasive species from one body of water to the other. I have a feeling that lures and fishing lines can’t really hold water, water drips off and they dry off quickly, especially in hot weather, so I don’t think they would be a big threat for transporting invasive species.
