Hello Italo thank you again for speaking at the Stelco Fishing Club yesterday. I am a kayak fisherman looking to enjoy the Welland RiverCanal. Would you be kind enough to review any good put in spots and perhaps comment if there are dangers associated with currents etc

A have fished the Welland River from a kayak with my dog Mulligan and have had good success for smallmouth +largemouth bass, pike & walleye.The current is not fast enough to be dangerous in the river. A kayak can be launched into the river wherever there are access points to the river on foot. I have launched mine at the launch that is south of Welland near the Welland Airport right off of River Road. You could launch it also right in Welland on River Road just around Almond St. If you go to Google Maps, zoom in on both stretches in “earth-view”, you will see the boat launches….God bless you, Italo.
