Hello Italo My friends and I are planning a walleye fishing trip on Detroit River on April 27th. I was wondering if you could advise local tackle stores near LaSalle where I can call and ask about water clarity as well as to buy some worms and minnows. Thanks Alex
Posted on April 18th, 2013Hi Alex….Sorry, I don’t drop into the tackle stores there so I don’t have any contact info. When we target walleye we either jig a 1/2 oz. jig/4″ plastic grub along the bottom in 18-25′ of water (on the current/structure breaks), or we drag a 1 1/4 oz. bottom-walking sinker & worm harness along the bottom in the same areas. If we target white bass we fish jigs/plastic grubs, Vibrax #2 & #3 spinners, Countdown Rapalas #5, and 1/4 oz. spoons. Very reliable locations to fish throughout April/May is off the north tip of Fighting Island (both on the MIchingan & Canadian side), and all the way down to Balbo Island….God bless you, Italo
