Good day sir I had recently purchased a couple kayaks for my wife and I and have never before had such a great time fishing even compared to fishing out of a boat and to you I give thanks. My question is in regards to fishing in the welland river. I have fished in the canal behind downtown but thers lots of ropes now and the same goes for Martindale pond in Port D.HOW CAN I GET INTO THE RIVER WITH MY KAYAKS Is there an easy place to unload my stuff and get into the water safely hopefully without getting to wet Thank you for your time. God bless
Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Scott…Glad you are enjoying your kayaks. I know the “wires” well and have lost several fishing lures on them in teh Welland Recreational Canal. The two places I use to launch is:
off the River Road boat launch, right in Welland, just south of Almond St., (to have access to the Welland River from the Welland Aquaduct through to Hwy.#406 and to the next Aquaduct at Bigger Rd.)
at the boat launch off River Road just west of the Welland Airport (to have access on the Welland River from Welland, south to Wellandport)
Both are public and it will be easy for you to get the kayaks in and out….God bless you, Italo
