Going to hay bay this weekend. Walleye. Staying at perfect view. Any tips or techniques?

Hi Mark, this is a great time to fish Hayward Longreach and Hay Bay for walleye, pike and largemouth bass. Where Hay Bay meets Hayward Longreach (around Sherman’s and Thompson Point are especially good areas), and Perfect Vue is not too far on the north shore. Best presentation is to cast crankbaits along the weedbeds you will see visually growing to the surface. My top producing crankbaits there are the Rapala Tail Dancer #9 in the hot-chub color, the Rapala Dives -To Flat #7 in the hot-mustard color, and the Rattling Suspended Jointed Shad Rap in fire-tiger color. Fish those with 20 or 30 lb. braid and cast them as close to the weedlines as possible. You can also fish 1/4 and 3/8 oz. jigs /Lunker City 3″ Shaker and SwimFish tight to the weeds and in the weed pockets all day long. All three species will be feeding there. You may also get some surprises from a huge sheepshead or channel catfish. Hope you have an amazing trip. I would love to see some of your catches. You can send your images to, info@canadian-sportfishing.com ….I would love to brag about your catches….God bless you.
