gday italo watch your show all the time. just want some tips on catching some opening day sea trout in p.e.i. any tips that would give me the edge would be great thanks!
Posted on March 27th, 2015Hi Ryan…Glad you are enjoying our TV shows. I have fished in P.E.I. for trout, but only in the streams. If you are fishing for sea-run trout, there are a couple of runs. I think the first one is the Lilac-run (when the Lilac flowers are blooming), and than there is a later run). I fly fished for them when they were further up-stream but you can also catch them right near the mouth. In salt/brackish water you can use 1/8 & 1/4 oz. Lucky Strike spoons, the Countdown Rapalas in sizes #1 & #3, and #1 & #2 Vibrax spinners. Use 6lb. test line and make lot’s of casts to try and cover as much water as possible if you are fishing at the mouth of the brooks. Up-stream I think you will have good success fishing streamers and wet flies…God bless you, Italo
