Evening ItaloI would like to try largemouth fishing in the holland river. Is it a good spot for largemouth?, i see lots of good pictures from it. Can you recommend an area that holds good numbers of largemouth and has a spot to put in/take out?, im new to the area
Posted on July 12th, 2019Hi Alex, the lower Holland River north of Younge St., and especially where it meets Cooke’s Bay can be excellent for largemouth. You can fish the open water casting to the shallows but if you spot a suspended cattail shoreline definitely use either a Texas-rigged plastic worm or a flippin’jig/trailer right along the undercut. Spinnerbaits are always good casting in all directions. Warning, there are also Bowfin and pike in the same areas.
