Panfish TV show, Port Colborne, ON
Posted on February 14th, 2013[nggallery id=836]Our good friend Aldo Nava, www.niagarafishingadventures.com , our pup Mulligan and I had a chance to shoot an excellent panfish ice fishing TV show full of great tips today at a rock quarry near Port Colborne, ON. Aldo took a break from guiding on the Niagara River for brown & rainbow trout and we could not have timed the ice-shoot better. Conditions were good, air temperature was close to zero, skies were overcast, and the fish were biting.
This was a great opportunity for us to again test some of the new Rapala Ice Fishing series products like their new Rapala Rap Shack Cruizer, their brand new Interface snow suits & gloves, their new Rapala Shift ice fishing spinning reel, the Rapala R-Type ice combos, the Normark 6″ manual auger, and the TriggerX grubs.
The Humminbird Ice 55 sonar worked extremely well to mark our 1/16 oz. jigs/TriggerX grub in 6-8′ of water, as well as jweeds, woodpiles and of course fish. Between the two of us we probably landedover 50 nice-sized fish and I know that Aldo will be enjoying a fresh fish fry tonight!
The last two days of shooting ice fishing TV shows was great. Tomorrow (3pm) and Sat.(10am), I’ll be speaking at the Spring Fishing & Boating Show, than Monday it’s off to Florida to find some for saltwater TV filming fishing spots!
