Ottawa, ON Sail Outdoors Superstore opening a great success!!
Posted on December 8th, 2010[nggallery id=381]I had heard a lot about the excellent selection and great prices of outdoor supplies sold at the Sail Outdoors Superstores in Quebec, but when I arrived at the first Ontario Sail store that opened on Dec. 1, 2010 in Ottawa, I was blown-away. The store is huge, somewhere between 80,000-100,00 square feet, it’s bright and once you enter the front doors you can see where every department is. Sail has everything outdoor enthusiasts need. There’s a wide variety of outdoor clothing, camping gear, kayaks, outdoor accessories, a huge fishing and hunting department and much more. The prices were incredible and I did end up purchasing many items that I needed for steelheading. I was really impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the staff. The other thing that I was really impressed with is that everything in the fishing department is out in the isles for you to touch, try and buy. That’s right the reels are in boxes right on the shelves along with all the other tackle. And if any item is sold out on the shelf, Sail has a policy of inventorying everything they sell in the back, that’s a pleasant change from most stores that only stock a few items on the shelf and if they are gone, that’s it! I had a chance to sign hundreds of posters, Minn Kota/Humminbird hats, & Rapala Rattlin’Rap key chains. I also met many passionate anglers and fans of the show. I even had the chance to do a bit of a talk show on AM1200, a popular Ottawa sports radio station. If you live in the GTA, make sure to look for the launch of their first southern-Ontario SAIL Outdoor Superstore in Vaughn next December.
