Today we watched tribal fishermen net some of the fish from the largest royal lake. Their catch consisted of Rohu, Katla, Featherbacks and a variety of small fish. It’s common for Palaces to have several large lakes which they use to keep a good fish supply for their own use.

Next we traveled to the Konarka Palace about 10km away. This is a beautiful palace that is being restored and is already being used to accommodate guest. It features spacious rooms, a beautiful view from it’s upper patios, to large pond and very large maintained grounds. Our highlight was having a fresh fish lunch prepared for us of Pomfreit & Asian Sea Bass along with several traditional Indian dishes.
